I have a beautiful body

I have a beautiful body!!

Try saying those words out loud, to yourself….

How do they feel?

Do they feel truthful? Do they feel like a lie?

Try saying the words, “I am beautiful”. How do they feel?

If you were to look in the mirror right now, would you be able to find three things about your body that you love? How about three things you don’t like?

My body is truly beautiful, and the reason I believe that it is, is because with everything that I have put it through, it is still healthy, and still strong.

I have put my body through hell and back.

I have been on every diet known to man, I have starved my body, I have lived on only coke zero and chocolate liquorice for over 12 months, I have tortured it with excessive exercise of sometimes up to 6-8 hours of exercise a day, I have binged to the point where I thought my stomach would explode, my body has been cut in half surgically to remove excess skin from extreme weight loss.

My body has been sexually abused, emotionally abused, physically abused.

And still, my body is beautiful.

My body is beautiful because it has survived so much abuse; a lot of it, self-inflicted.

My body is beautiful because it has a heart that beats strong to carry me through life.

My body is beautiful because it is able to enjoy the most extreme sensual of pleasures.

My body is beautiful because it is able to tolerate extreme pain.

My body is beautiful because it knows how to self-heal.

My body is beautiful because it has killer curves!

My body is beautiful because it is able to create life.

My body is beautiful because it is physically strong.

My body is beautiful because it’s my home.

Why do we only choose to focus on what our bodies aren’t?

I so often hear, “my body needs to lose weight, my body needs to gain weight, my body is ugly because I have freckles, my thighs are too fat, I have too many rolls of fat, I don’t have a flat stomach, or six pack.”

Let’s start a revolution, and focus on why our bodies are beautiful!

Let’s take that revolution one step further, and let’s list all of things that make us beautiful, which includes our bodies!

I am beautiful, because I am flawed.

I am beautiful, because I am real.

I am beautiful, because I am imperfect.

I am beautiful, because I love, love.

I am beautiful, because I love unconditionally.

I am beautiful, because I am resilient.

I am beautiful, because I never give up.

I am beautiful, because I trust.

I am beautiful because I choose to see the good in all people.

I am beautiful, because I never ever lose hope.

I am beautiful, because I am kind.

I am beautiful, because I am generous.

I am beautiful, because I am loving.

I am beautiful, because I am a nurturer.

I am beautiful, because I am vulnerable.

I am beautiful, because I am strong.

I am beautiful, because I am loyal.

I am beautiful, because I am optimistic.

I am beautiful, because I am grateful.

I am beautiful, because I am….

Just for today, take 5mins out of your day, and write down all of things that make YOU beautiful, and YOUR BODY beautiful.

You have been hating on your body, and on you, for far too long. How about trying a new approach?
